AppExchange Installation

1. Do I need special permissions to install MCX?

Yes. Installing applications from the Salesforce AppExchange typically requires administrator permissions in your Marketing Cloud account. If you are unable to complete the installation, please check with your SFMC administrator to ensure you have the necessary rights.

2.Will installing MCX affect my existing Marketing Cloud data?

No. MCX is designed to work with your existing SFMC environment without altering your data or automations. As an installed package, it operates within the secure framework provided by Salesforce.

3. I’ve installed the app, but I can’t find it. Where does it appear?

After a successful installation, the MCX suite will be located under the AppExchange item in the main navigation menu of your Marketing Cloud Business Unit. It will not appear as a separate item on the main navigation bar.

4. The automatic sign-in failed after I launched the app. What should I do?

The app should use your current Marketing Cloud session to sign you in automatically. If this fails, the most common solution is to refresh your session. Log out of Salesforce Marketing Cloud completely, log back in, and then try launching MCX again.

5. MCX isn’t loading or shows an error when I open it. What are some common first steps?

If the app doesn’t load correctly after installation, please try these common troubleshooting steps:
  • Refresh Your Session: As a first step, log out of SFMC and log back in to ensure you have a fresh session.
  • Clear Browser Cache: Clear your browser’s cache and cookies for the Marketing Cloud website, as old data can sometimes cause conflicts.
  • Try Again: Close the browser tab and relaunch MCX from the AppExchange menu in your Business Unit.
